Easy to clean and built to last, Alderney is ideal for everyday living spaces and occasional-moisture areas like kitchens and utility rooms.
This versatile range is available in a wide choice of styles, colours, and louvre widths — giving you the freedom to match your shutters beautifully to your home’s needs and aesthetic.

💧 Moisture Awareness – Where Alderney Works Best
While Alderney shutters feature ABS slats that are moisture-resistant, the MDF frame means they’re not suitable for high-humidity areas such as bathrooms or wet rooms.
However, they are perfectly suited to:
- Kitchens (especially in well-ventilated areas)
- Utility rooms with occasional moisture
- Conservatories and high-traffic areas
- Family spaces and everyday living rooms
If you’re after shutters for a bathroom, cloakroom or steamy space, we recommend our Herm or Fermain ranges, which are designed to handle full moisture exposure.
🎨 Colour Options – 23 Painted Finishes
The Alderney range is available in 23 painted finishes, including whites, creams, pale greys, taupes, and darker tones that work brilliantly with anthracite window frames.
Whether you love cool neutrals or something a little softer and warmer, there’s an Alderney shade to suit your scheme.

📏 Slat Sizes – 4 Louvre Widths to Suit Every Room
Choose from four louvre widths to tailor both the look and light levels of your shutters:
- 63mm – Classic and timeless, ideal for traditional windows
- 76mm – A great all-rounder, balancing light and privacy
- 89mm – Contemporary, clean lines and increased daylight
- 114mm – Statement-making for tall windows and modern interiors

🎚️ Tilt Rod Options – Control in Style
Alderney shutters are available with two tilt control styles:
- Centre Tilt Rod – A visible central rod for a traditional look
- Concealed Tilt Mechanism – Sleek and hidden, adjusted via internal rack and pinion
Both give you smooth, precise control over light and privacy — simply choose the look you love best.

🚪 Shutter Styles Available
The Alderney range supports a wide range of shutter styles, including:
- Full Height
- Full Height with a Mid-Break
- Café Style
- Tier on Tier
- Tracked Shutters (for patio doors and wide openings)
It’s even possible to fold two panels neatly to each side using a Z-frame — perfect for opening up a window or doorway fully while maintaining a smart, framed finish.
⚠️ Things to Consider
While Alderney shutters offer impressive strength and easy maintenance, they do have a couple of limitations:
Not suitable for bathrooms or wet rooms – due to the MDF frame
Painted finish only – not available in stained or grain-effect finishes
A little heavier than all-wood or all-ABS options – best used within size guidelines
Our team is happy to help you compare Alderney with other ranges like Evergreen, Fermain, or Vazon to find the right fit for your space.
