Types of Roller Blinds

Roller Blinds are an excellent choice for covering windows. Available in a wide variety of colours, textures and patterns, there is something for every decor. There are a number of different types of roller blinds to choose from.

Traditional Roller Blinds

Roller Blinds are operated by a simple chain on either the left or right hand side of the blind. We have a wide choice of fabrics including plains in an array of colours, patterned, textured and blackout. Traditional Roller Blinds are available most commonly with a straight bottom weight bar, however a decorative scallop design can be added if wanted.

Motorised Roller Blinds

Motorised Roller Blinds

Becoming more popular are Electric Roller Blinds, especially for covering Bi-folding doors. These easy to operate blinds raise and lower at the touch of a button. A compatible Hub can be added to enable Smart Speaker or remote operation through an App on a mobile device. We supply both Li-ion rechargeable battery and Plug in automatic roller blinds and are happy to advise according to your personal situation.

Dou Roller Blinds

Duo Roller Blinds

Duo Roller Blinds are also referred to as Zebra or Vision Blinds. The blinds consist of two pieces of fabric with intermittent stripes of Voile (see-through) and Obtuse (non see-through). These can be set to allow privacy and light during the day and more privacy at night.

Tri-Roller Blinds

Try Rollers work in a similar way to Venetian blinds. Two pieces of Voile fabric are connected with pieces of horizontal opaque fabric. These pieces of fabric can be tilted, in a similar way to Venetian blinds, or the whole blind  can be rolled up, like a traditional roller blind.

Roller Blinds Child Safety

Roller Blinds and Child Safety

In 2014 the law changed with regard to Blind cords and Chains and Child Safety. This law ensures that all blinds sold and fitted must comply with the strict regulations. There are a number of options which regards to roller blinds.

Chain operation and tensioning device.

This simple operation consists of a chain attached to the wall one and a half metres (minimum) from the floor. Attaching the chain keeps the chain safe and tidy.

Chain Operation and Safety Bean

Again, this is a chain operation, the safety bean is designed to separate at under 6kg of pressure. Due to the low weight toleration of the safety bean, we do not recommend this option on large, heavy weight blinds as the safety bean can be triggered by the weight of the blind itself.

Crank Operation

Crank Roller Blinds Operate with a pole attachment and handle. Simply turn the handle to raise and lower the blinds.

Motorised

As there are no cords or chains on Motorised Roller Blinds, these are one of the most child safe options.
