Pleated Blinds for Windows & Doors in Berkshire

✨ Introduction

Pleated blinds are a smart, modern choice for anyone looking to improve temperature control, reduce glare, and add elegant privacy. Originally used in conservatories, they’ve evolved into a versatile solution for almost any room in the home — from bay windows and bedrooms to gable-end apex windows and bifold doors.

We offer both single-layer pleated fabrics, often with Solar Reflective Coatings to keep rooms cooler in summer, and Duette® honeycomb (cellular) fabrics that trap air for insulation – like double glazing for your windows.

With options like tensioned blinds, motorised systems, and Perfect Fit or Intu, pleated blinds can be tailored precisely to your home.

Pleated Blind Fabrics

Single vs Cellular (Duette®)

When choosing pleated blinds, the fabric structure plays a big role in comfort, efficiency, and style. We offer two main types:

Single Pleat with Solar Reflective Coating

These fabrics feature a reflective backing to help reduce solar gain in summer and retain warmth in winter. They’re an excellent all-rounder for rooms where you want more comfort and light filtering without complete darkness.

Duette® Honeycomb Cellular Fabrics

Duette® blinds are often described as the double glazing of the blind world. Their clever honeycomb design traps air between two fabric layers, creating an insulating barrier that slows down heat transfer through the window. This helps keep your room warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

You can also choose from a range of dimout or blackout options, perfect for light-sensitive spaces.

Tension Blinds Operation

Operation Styles: From Simple to Smart

Different windows and rooms call for different control methods. Our pleated blinds are available in a range of operation styles to suit your lifestyle and safety requirements.

Free-Hanging Pleated Blinds

These traditional blinds are attached at the top of the window and operate using one of the following systems:
• Cord Lock & Cleat – Secure and reliable, ideal for classic installations
• Chain Operation – Smooth and easy to use
• Motorised – Rechargeable and remote-controlled for effortless control

They’re perfect for standard windows and come in a wide range of fabrics.

Tensioned Pleated Blinds

Tensioned blinds are designed to stay close to the glass, making them ideal for doors, tilt-and-turn windows, and Perfect Fit or Intu frames. These blinds are guided by discreet side cords and come in multiple configurations:
(↑) Bottom-Up – Raise the blind from the bottom for low-level privacy
(↓) Top-Down – Lower from the top to let in natural light
(↕) Multizone – Move the blind freely to any position on the window pane

These formats give you precise control over light and privacy, making them particularly effective for street-facing rooms or managing sunlight throughout the day.

Night and Day Options

These advanced blinds feature two fabric layers (e.g., a voile and a blackout) and allow you to switch between them with a third moving rail. Perfect for multi-use rooms, they offer soft light during the day and room darkening at night.

Motorised Pleated Blinds

For the ultimate in convenience, we offer motorised pleated blinds powered by rechargeable batteries. Operate them via remote control, or integrate with your smart home using a compatible hub and voice control.

Perfect Fit Blinds

Perfect Fit Pleated Blinds

Perfect Fit Pleated Blinds are a popular choice for doors and tilt-and-turn windows, thanks to their integrated frame system. The blind sits within a made-to-measure frame that clips directly onto the window or doorpane, allowing it to move with the unit when opened or tilted.

One of the key advantages of Perfect Fit is its robust frame, which not only ensures a neat finish but also shields the tension cords—making the whole system more durable and ideal for high-traffic areas, homes with children, and even households with cats or dogs. Because the blind fits snugly against the window and has no loose cords or fabrics, it’s far less likely to be pulled or damaged by pets.

Perfect Fit Pleated Blinds are compatible with both single-pleat and Duette® cellular fabrics, and are available in:
(↑) Bottom-Up – Raise the blind from the bottom for low-level privacy
(↓) Top-Down – Lower from the top to let in natural light
(↕) Multizone – Move the blind freely to any position on the window pane

Intu Pleated Blinds

Intu Pleated Blinds are a clean, integrated solution that sits directly within the window or door beading, allowing the blind to move with the window when opened or tilted. They’re ideal for creating a minimalist look, and are available in several formats to suit different frame types:

Intu Beadfit

This is the most commonly used version, ideal for modern UPVc windows and doors with rubber beading. The blind’s headrail clips securely onto brackets that sit between the glass and beading, keeping everything flush and seamless. Slim tension cords hold the blind in place and allow it to operate smoothly with the window or door.

Intu Screwfit

For larger or heavier blinds, Intu Screwfit offers a more secure installation. The brackets are fixed into the frame (including wood or aluminium), providing extra support and making it ideal for wider windows or doors where a standard Beadfit model wouldn’t be suitable.

Intu Micro

Designed specifically for bifolding doors, Intu Micro features a slimmer headrail and smaller pleat size. This ensures the doors can fold tightly together without obstruction. Despite its compact build, it still provides excellent light control and comes in a range of neutral and cellular fabric options.

They’re also Child Safe by Design, using a tension system without loose cords—ideal for family homes or spaces used by vulnerable individuals.

They operate smoothly using a top tab, allowing the blind to move up or down while staying flush with the glass. However, unlike Perfect Fit, Intu systems are typically limited to standard top-down tensioned setups only.

Electric Apex Blinds

Electric Apex & Gable-End Blinds

Architectural features like apex or gable-end windows can flood a space with natural light—but they also pose challenges when it comes to privacy and temperature control. Our Electric Pleated Blinds are the ideal solution for these shaped windows.

Custom-made to fit the angles of your apex or gable design, these blinds use rechargeable motors to glide open or closed at the touch of a button. With no need to reach awkwardly placed controls, you can enjoy a sleek and functional finish that complements even the most striking architecture.

Choose from:
Blackout or dimout cellular fabrics
Smart home integration for full automation

Are Pleated Blinds Suitable for Bifold Doors?

Absolutely. Pleated blinds are one of the most effective blind types for bifold doors—especially when using Perfect Fit or Intu Micro systems.

Unlike roller blinds, which can leave gaps and block access, pleated blinds:
Move with each door panel, thanks to the integrated frame
Sit flush to the glass, preserving the clean lines of the doors
• Offer options like bottom-up privacy (↑) and multizone control (↕)

For tighter stacking bifolds, our Intu Micro range offers a slim profile that tucks neatly between the panes without obstructing the fold.

  • Are pleated blinds energy efficient?

Yes – especially those made with Duette® honeycomb fabrics, which trap air for insulation. You can also choose single-pleat fabrics with solar reflective backing to reduce heat and glare in summer.

  • What’s the difference between Perfect Fit and Intu?

Perfect Fit uses a framed system that adds durability and is ideal for homes with pets or children. Intu systems fit more discreetly into the beading of the window or door and are better for minimalist installations or smaller spaces.

  • Can pleated blinds be motorised?

Yes. We offer rechargeable, remote-controlled pleated blinds, including options compatible with smart speakers and home hubs. These are especially useful for tall windows, apex windows, or hard-to-reach spaces.

  • Are pleated blinds suitable for bifold doors?

Yes, particularly when installed with Perfect Fit or Intu. These allow each blind to move with the door and stay flush to the glass, without interfering with the fold or the view.

  • Do you offer blackout pleated blinds?

We offer both dimout and blackout fabrics, including Night and Day pleated blinds that combine voile and blackout layers for flexible light control.
